The 0.3 micron rating in our manual refers specifically to the performance of the HEPA filter itself. This is the standard rating for HEPA filters, which are tested to capture 99.97% of particles in this size. However, Coway air purifiers use Hypercaptive™ filter technology, an advanced multi-stage filtration system. This system combines pre-filters, activated carbon filters and HEPA filters with additional features that increase the overall efficiency of the unit.

This comprehensive filtration process allows the entire unit to achieve 99.999% efficiency for ultrafine particles down to 0.01 microns. This means that the HEPA filter itself is rated for 0.3 microns, while the entire system is designed to capture and remove much smaller particles.
